A darts player from Walsall has hit the bullseye after qualifying for next year's Youth Championships.

Matthew Dennant finished in the top 32 of players across the UK and Europe after entering a series of knockout competitions.

The 21-year-old from Blakenall has been ranked 17th in the Professional Darts Corporation youth order of merit for this year. It means he has qualified for the Youth Championships due to be held in spring. The keen darts player, who has been playing since he was 10 years old has competed in Germany, Reading, and Derby in the last year.

He represents the New Inn pub in Blakenall.

"My main aim was just to finish in the 32 so to finish 17th was better than I expected," he said.
