Unsightly piles of clothes dumped by donation bins next to busy road in Wolverhampton

The clothes bank in Tettenhall has been left looking untidy after clothes were dumped in front of the bin

Piles of clothes have been dumped on the ground in front of donation bins next to a busy road in Wolverhampton.

Two green donation bins stand off Tettenhall Road, near the Newbridge Stonehouse pub in Tettenhall. The bins have signs asking for donations of shoes, as well as stickers that have been partially covered but appear to say “Reuse, Recover, Recycle Clothes”.

But on Saturday (October 31) the ground in front of the bins was covered with piles of clothes and textiles.

Black bin bags could also be seen in front of and to the side of the bins.

One of the bins has a sticker with an email address for RR Community. Both bins also have stickers warning that fly-tipping is a criminal offence.

Donation bins are intended for unwanted clothes, shoes or textiles to be dropped off for collection so they can be given a new lease of life.

RR Community and Wolverhampton Council have been approached for comment.
