West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Centenary Square at 11.41 this morning after an unattended bag was found at a bus stop.

“Officers attended and a cordon was put in place as a precaution.

“After examining the contents of the bag, nothing suspicious was found and the cordon is now being lifted.”

It comes as a road in Tettenhall Wood has now re-opened after a suspicious bag was found on a bus and caused a cordon to be put in place.

Police rushed to School Road after reports of a bag being found on the Number 1 service which serves the area.

One resident said he was unable to access his property for half an hour and said he believed the bag had been found when the two drivers swopped shifts at the bus stop outside Penk Rise.
