Two teenagers charged over alleged Birmingham-to-Northampton Class A drugs line
The warrants were executed at addresses in Bartley Green, Birmingham, and Kettering, Northamptonshire
Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the alleged supply of Class A drugs between Birmingham and Northampton.
Officers from the County Lines Taskforce worked alongside Northamptonshire Police to carry out raids linked to the so-called "Leon" drugs line.
The warrants were executed at addresses in Bartley Green, Birmingham, and Kettering, Northamptonshire, on Thursday.
Police said two teenagers were detained during the operation, while three "zombie-style" knives were recovered along with a mobile phone suspected of being linked to the drugs line.
A 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Mekhi Smith, aged 19 and of no fixed address, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and possession of criminal property.
Both were remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 4.
West Midlands Police said its officers were continuing to target suspected county lines networks and act on information about drug dealing.
A force spokesperson said: "Drugs not only ruin lives, but fuel further crime. We're consistently acting on information and taking action to shut down drug supply networks."
