Two men arrested after police stop in Birmingham uncovered drugs, cash and weapons
Two men were arrested after a stop on a Birmingham street uncovered drugs and cash.
A stop by a specialist police operation saw two men arrested after being found with suspected Class A drugs, cash and a weapon.
West Midlands Police said that officers from Operation Fearless, acting on intelligence from the local community, stopped a vehicle on Park Road in Handsworth shortly before midday on Monday.
Searches were carried out, and several wraps of suspected Class A drugs were recovered alongside cash and a mobile phone, while a further search of a linked address saw a machete seized.
The force said the two men, aged 18 and 51, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs and remain in police custody.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Operation Fearless exists to tackle the crimes people tell us are causing issues locally and working with community partners to deal with it head on.
“Just last week, drugs and cash were seized after the team had listened to information from people in the area.
“The team are committed to acting on the intelligence provided to them, and you can get share information via the WMP website or by calling 101.”
