All lanes closed on M6 between Junctions 5 and 6 after 'caravan overturns'

All lanes were closed on the southbound M6 between Junctions 5 and 6 due to a caravan overturning.

The caravan overturned just after 1.30pm today (March 25).

The accident took place on a busy part of the motorway between Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction) and Junction 5 (Castle Bromwich).

West Midlands Roads said: "M6 southbound between J6 Spaghetti Junction and J5 Castle Bromwich. Carriageway blocked.

"Jack-knifed vehicle."

National Highways said: "All lanes were closed after a caravan overturned just after 1.30pm. 

"Police and fire service have been on the scene.

"The caravan has now been moved onto the hard shoulder and lanes are expected to re-open shortly."

It has now added that traffic has been released and all lanes have re-opened but there are still 45 minute delays in the area.
