Crash closes road in Wolverhampton - emergency services called to scene

A road has been closed off in Wolverhampton after a crash.

Finchfield Hill was closed off from the junction with Compton Road West to the Broadway, opposite the Westacres pub, following the collision, with photos showing a car and a van with damage.

Emergency services crews could also be seen at the scene, with a police cordon in place, as well as a fire engine and an ambulance, with West Midlands Police confirming the collision was a non-serious collision.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were alerted at 1.37pm on Monday to a road traffic collision involving a car and a van on Finchfield Hill, Wolverhampton. 

"One fire engine attended. No-one was trapped. Our crew made both vehicles safe.

"West Midlands Ambulance Service attended and assessed one person as a precaution. 

"The police were arranging recovery of the vehicles."

A spokewoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.41pm to a road traffic collision involving a car and a van on Finchfield Hill in Wolverhampton. 

"One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a woman who was the driver of the car.

"She was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. 

"She declined further treatment from ambulance staff and received self care advice before being discharged at the scene."
