Traffic disruption to affect Dudley road for weeks amid works for new Aldi store

The new Aldi store in Dudley is set to open towards the end of this year

Traffic disruption will affect a road in Lower Gornal for weeks this summer.

A new Aldi store is being built on Zoar Street.

A temporary traffic regulation order will be in place in Zoar Street from July 20 to August 30 to allow for junction improvement and highway works associated with the new Aldi store.

All works are being undertaken by Harris P M Ltd on behalf of Aldi as part of works to the existing highway.

This means Zoar Street in Lower Gornal from Redhall Road to opposite the bus terminus, and Bank Road from Redhall Road to the bus terminus, will be closed rom Friday August 21 to Sunday August 30 between 19:00 and 23:00 each night.

There will also be a temporary one way (Northwest Bound) on Bank Road.

Dudley Council said the works have been planned to coincide with the six-week school holidays.

Aldi said the new store is on track to open towards the end of the year.
