‘There is a real buzz’ Bridgnorth bristles with excitement as music and arts festival nears
The Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival returns on Thursday, August 27 to Monday, August 31.
There is a “real buzz” of excitement in Bridgnorth as the town’s music and arts festival is to return to the streets this month, organisers have said.
The Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival returns for the bank holiday weekend at the end of August, with even more acts lined up for the outdoor stages, and around 20 venues signed up over the long weekend.
Returning from Thursday, August, 27 to Monday, August 31, the festival will once again transform the town into a vibrant celebration of music, creativity and community, with stages and performances taking place across iconic Bridgnorth locations including Castle Gardens, the High Street and the Quayside.

It is the 18th occasion that the free, family festival has taken place in the town and organisers ShireFolk say there is even more entertainment, activities and workshops this year.
Jen Bone from Shirefolk, said: “The town has really come together this year.

“There are around 20 venues taking part, from pubs such as the Bell and Talbot, the White Lion, the Crown and Bassa Villa to Central Court, St Mary’s Church and St Leonards.

“There has been a real buzz in the town, and we have had so much amazing support from the businesses and our partners this year.
“We are really, really proud of the line-up this year,” said Jen. “On the main stage we have a really diverse mix of acts from folk, Americana, country, rockabilly and electro acts.”
As well as entertainment on the Castle stage on the Saturday, the High Street stage on Sunday and the Quayside stage on the Monday there is plenty of entertainment and attractions across the town over the four days.
Along with live acts on the main stage, around 20 venues are hosting acts and entertainment across the town over the four days.
“We also have a lot more workshops this year,” said Jen. “At the library we have our drum workshop with Ronnie Prudence and a workshop by the Ukulele band.
“Art Among The Pews also returns to St Leonards Church and for the first time this year they are hosting live music and running art workshops.
“And we also have by popular demand the return on Thursday of our campfire jam, while there may not be an actual campfire, there will be plenty of warmth in the air as musicians and singers of all levels gather for an open jam session in Central Court, which starts at 7pm, and goes on until late."
The festival also features returning favourites such as Pub Quiz in the Park with Ben Spicer - The Chase Winner and Mastermind Finalist - which is on the Castle stage at noon on Saturday.
This year, from 7am onwards on Sunday, the High Street from Whitburn Street to the Town Hall is closed to all traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles, to allow the festival to take place.
More details of what’s on at the 2026 Bridgnorth Music and Arts Festival can be found on the organiser’s website: https://bridgnorthfestival.co.uk/bf-2026-events or by picking up a festival programme from many of the businesses in the town.
