The history of Stafford was celebrated through a day of historic events and exhibits.
Stafford History Day saw thousands of people take a walk around Stafford on Saturday, with people moving between locations including Market Square, Ancient High House, St Mary’s Church, St Chad’s Church, Gatehouse Theatre, Staffordshire History Centre and Stafford Library.
They were able to learn more after picking up the History Trail booklet and taking the time to stop, look and get involved, with the Mayor of Stafford Councillor Jenny Barron among those taking in the event.
The event was organised by Staffordshire Cultural Events CIC / LR Partnership Events, bringing together local groups, historians and organisations to deliver a full day across the town centre.
Lorraine Conkey, Director of Staffordshire Cultural Events CIC / LR Partnership Events, said: “Thank you to everyone who got involved, whether you were organising, volunteering, performing, supporting or simply coming along on the day.
“It was a proper team effort across the town and great to see so many people taking part and enjoying what Stafford has to offer.”
We’ve captured 20 photos from the event which show the colour and fun had by all at the event.
