Seven vehicles seized and 14 motorists reported during Walsall police op
A police operation saw vehicles seized and motorists reported for offences over the course of a day.
Vehicles were seized and motorists reported for a range of offences during a day-long police operation around road safety.
West Midlands Police carried out a Multi-Agency Road Safety Operation (MARSO) in Walsall on June 23 near Walsall Arboretum as part of the Safer Towns Summer operation.
The force said that, during the operation, there were seven vehicle seizures and 14 motorists were reported for offences, including having no insurance, using mobile phones and illegal tints.
The operation was led by the Road Harm Prevention Team and supported by officers from St Matthew’s and brought together a wide range of partners, including representatives from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, (DVLA), DataTag and Walsall Council’s licencing team.
Emily Fawlk, Road Harm Prevention Officer, at Walsall Police, said: “We understand that road safety is a real concern for residents, and days like these are a key part of our commitment to keeping everyone safe.

“As well as seizing vehicles and reporting motorists for a number of offences it was also an opportunity to educate people around road safety.

“There will be visible reassurance patrols and enforcement activity in hotspot areas, and local officers are on hand as ever to listen to any concerns you may have.
