School's out: Top Midlands days out for families this summer
Warwick Castle is among the venues unveiling a packed programme of entertainment
Families looking for ideas to keep children entertained during the summer holidays have plenty of options across the Midlands, with a range of attractions launching seasonal events and discounted ticket offers.
Warwick Castle is among the venues unveiling a packed programme of entertainment, including the return of its Wars of the Roses LIVE! spectacular featuring jousting, stunt riding and battle scenes. Visitors can also enjoy the Falconer's Quest bird of prey display, the Zog Playland and the Horrible Histories Maze throughout the summer.
Meanwhile, the National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new Sea Creature Rescue Squad experience, encouraging families to learn about marine conservation through interactive activities. The attraction is also offering discounted midweek admission during July.
Chocolate lovers can head to Cadbury World, where Freddo's Magic Show will run from August 19 to 31 alongside the attraction's regular chocolate-making experiences, including its 4D Chocolate Adventure and Have a Go Zone. Combined tickets with SEA LIFE Birmingham are also available.
LEGO fans are also catered for this summer, with LEGOLAND Discovery Centres in Birmingham and Manchester marking the 15th anniversary of LEGO NINJAGO through a series of themed activities, building challenges and 4D experiences.
Merlin Entertainments, which operates the attractions, says a range of seasonal discounts are available throughout the school holidays, including Warwick Castle's second-day-free offer and reduced-price midweek tickets at SEA LIFE Birmingham and Cadbury World during July.
