The Wagon and Horses, on Cradley Forge, Brierley Hill, re-opened on Monday with a new lease-of-life after undergoing a full transformation.

The pub was forced to close in March after it was flooded three times in a six-month period as a result of a nearby brook overflowing and a burst drain pipe.

Customers can now enjoy a meal in one of the pub's two separate dining spaces, which have a combined capacity of more than 150 people.

And Italian-inspired food is on the menu created by the pub's new chef, with offerings ranging from wood-fired pizzas to lasagne and pasta dishes.

Rav Singh, who took over as landlord at the Wagon and Horses last year, said he was "excited" to see customers back in the pub again.

The 32-year-old said: "We're really excited, our locals are excited as well. Our speciality is going to be wood-fired pizzas – not many places do that.

"Some of the people who were passing have been coming in and we've had really good feedback, it's completely changed. Our aim is to get more families in so that's why we're doing the food."

Rav, who is from Handsworth, explained that he had "no choice" but to re-decorate the pub after it was damaged by the floods, and has his "fingers crossed" that it won't happen again.

He continued: "We had to close it, many people were scared to come to our car park especially in October and December, it was quite bad.

"We had no choice apart from closing down. We had to do re-tiling, a new seating area, new kitchen – everything new, really."

To prevent any future flooding incidents, a 4ft high wall has been installed at the back of the pub as well as new fencing.
