'It's disgusting': Rubbish piled high outside closed down fish and chip shop in Wednesbury with rats spotted
Huge amounts of rubbish has been piled up and left outside a closed down fish and chip shop in Wednesbury near houses.
There is outrage as huge amounts of rubbish has been left out the back of a closed down fish and chip shop in Wednesbury near people’s homes.
Bobby’s Fish and Chip shop, located on Coronation Road, in Wednesbury has been blighted at the back of its premises with litter and rubbish.
The fish and chip shop has reportedly been closed down for years and nothing has been done to move the rubbish that is collecting out the back.

The closed down chip shop is located next to a Best One convenience store, and flats are also located above the shop.
Owner of the Best One store, Hardip Randhawh, told the Express & Star: “We took over in April 2025 and the rubbish next door has been in there since then. Nobody has come to clear it up.
“Some people moan about it but nothing happens. People who live in the flats above have said they have seen rats.
“We are eager to see it all gone!”.

One resident complained about the rubbish on a local Facebook group on Sunday (May 24). She wrote: “No one is doing anything about it not even the council.
“Apparently the chippy been closed for years. I moved here in March and it’s absolutely disgusting.”
A spokesperson for Sandwell Council said: "Sandwell Council has invested in bringing an end to criminal fly-tipping in our borough. The site in question is on private land but is clearly a public nuisance and we will act where the owner has failed to do so. We will also be following this up with enforcement which could lead to a fine.
“The council has installed new CCTV cameras at known fly-tipping hotspots and increased enforcement efforts. Since October 2025, enforcement action has resulted in fixed penalty notices for fly-tipping, with fines reaching up to £1000 for those who hand waste to unlicensed removal firms.
“We also need private landowners to take their responsibilities seriously and to be good neighbours. We will prosecute offenders.”
