Prolific Telford shoplifter banned from Boots and Tesco under tougher order
He’s been banned from two more stores in Telford
A prolific Telford shoplifter has had additional restrictions imposed upon him after being found guilty of further offences.
Neil Candlin, 32, of no fixed abode, had his existing five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) varied by a court on Thursday, October 22.
The order, which was originally granted following a series of theft offences, now bans Candlin from entering Boots in Telford town centre and Tesco in Malinslee.

He was already prohibited from entering several other stores across the area, including Asda in Malinsgate, Poundland in Telford Shopping Centre, the Severn Hospice charity shop in Newport, Asda in Donnington, Sainsbury’s at Forge Retail Park and the Co-op in Oakengates.
The order also prohibits Candlin from refusing to leave any premises or area when asked to do so by someone with the authority to make that request.
Inspector Richard Jones said police were determined to support retailers and take action against those who repeatedly commit shoplifting offences.
He said: “Our retailers should not have to tolerate persistent offending, and we are determined to support them by taking action against those who repeatedly commit shoplifting offences.
“The strengthening of this Criminal Behaviour Order demonstrates our ongoing commitment to tackling this type of crime and protecting local businesses.
“We will continue to work closely with retailers and partner agencies to identify repeat offenders, bring them before the courts and use the powers available to prevent further offending wherever possible.”
Police are urging anyone who witnesses Candlin breaching the conditions of his order or committing a criminal offence to report it.
