Potholes causing problems for drivers near Baggeridge Country Park
The deteriorating road surface has become a concern
Drivers are facing problems at a road junction near Baggeridge Country Park due to a number of badly damaged sections of road surface.
Potholes at the junction of Gospel End Road and Brick Kiln Way are causing difficulties for motorists travelling through the area.

The deteriorating road surface has become a concern, with drivers having to navigate the damaged sections of road when approaching or turning at the junction.
Potholes can pose a risk to road users, potentially causing damage to tyres, wheels and suspension, particularly when they are difficult to spot.

The affected stretch of road is close to Baggeridge Village, where drivers use the junction to access the surrounding area.
Daniel Cecil, Cabinet Support Member for Highways at Staffordshire County Council, said: “Our highways teams are aware of the defects at the location and repairs have been scheduled in for early December.

“We recently announced a £15 million investment over 2 years into tackling potholes and in September we fixed around 5,000 defects.
“This money is being used to accelerate repairs across the county and reduce the backlog of lower-level defects.
“Through our Road Map to a Better Network, we remain focused on investing in our roads and delivering improvements for residents.

“Any potholes reported to us are inspected and assessed in terms of severity, with the most serious being repaired within 24 hours.
“Other less priority defects are dealt with as soon as resources are available.”
