Popular Staffordshire cafe forced to close early due to power loss

The owners of the cafe said that due to a loss of power, they had made the decision to close for the day.

A Wombourne cafe at the end of the South Staffordshire Railway Walk has been forced to close early after a power cut.

The owners of The Platform put out a message on social media to inform customers that due to electrical issues on Sunday, the cafe had suffered a complete power loss.

They said that due to this and not being able to serve hot drinks or food, they had decided to close and said they were working to ensure the issue could be resolved soon.

A spokeswoman for The Platform said: “As some of you may know we were having electrical issues yesterday, and unfortunately our power has now completely gone, meaning we can’t serve any hot food or drinks.

“We’ve therefore made the decision to close today.

“We are in communication with the National Grid and are hoping the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

“Thank you for your understanding and updates will be provided as soon as we know more.”
