Police seize cannabis plants after raid on West Midlands house
100 cannabis plants were taken from the address after the discovery by police officers.
A large number of cannabis plants were seized after being discovered by police officers at a West Midlands house.
West Midlands Police said the Westwood Neighbourhood Team uncovered 100 plants while carrying out enquiries at an address in Torrington Avenue in Coventry on Thursday.
Inside, they found a number of rooms kitted out with equipment to grow cannabis plants, as well as approximately 100 plants.
The force said no one was inside the address when it was searched and said that officers are working to find those responsible and gather any information which could help in their enquiries.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “If you have any information which could help, call 101 or use Live Chat quoting log 1886 of 22 October.

“Cannabis farms have a negative impact on the surrounding area, as they are often powered by illegally bypassing the electricity.
“This can cause power surges resulting in catastrophic fires posing a serious risk to life.
“Along with this, the groups behind the cannabis farms often exploit vulnerable people, trapping them in a life of crime.
“If you suspect there could be a cannabis farm, or similar drug-related crimes happening where you live, report it to us.
“The information we receive from the public helps us build a clearer picture of where and when to run our operations.”
