Motorists are facing a daytime diversion from the main thoroughfare so that a manhole can be fixed
Part of a main road between Wolverhampton and Walsall will be shut for several hours for manhole cover works.
Wolverhampton Council stated: “Notice is hereby given that Wolverhampton Council propose to make an order prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Lower Walsall Street at its junction with Minerva Lane.
“The order may operate for a maximum period of 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken on September 13 only between the hours of 9.30am-3.30am.”
A diversion route will operate via Lower Horseley Fields, Horseley Fields, Middle Cross, Bilston Street Island, Bilston Road, Sharrocks Street, Commercial Road, Walsall Street and vice versa.
The work is being carried out by Severn Trent Water to repair a defective manhole frame and cover.
