The new restaurant is creating 95 jobs

A new McDonald’s restaurant has opened in Lichfield.

The new restaurant opened on Wednesday on Eastern Avenue by franchisee Mike McCollum.

The new 75-seater restaurant has created 95 new full and part-time jobs for the local community alongside opening with an enclosed play area to facilitate more family moments for customers.

Mike and his team were joined by local charity Liberty Jamboree, a charity that works with young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities, who officially welcomed diners to the new restaurant by performing a flashmob.

Mike McCollum, who now owns and operates six McDonald’s restaurants in the West Midlands, shared his delight.

“We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Lichfield and are excited to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer,” said McCollum.

“People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create. We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality,” he added.

One feature of the new McDonald’s is a front counter redesign meaning there is more space for customers to enjoy their meal, less congestion around touchscreens, and shorter queues with the opening hours taking place between 6am – 11pm, seven days a week.
