She added that the whole family are very grateful to both the club and those on the football team who supported with the organising of it.

Ethan’s football club, Halesowen Town Colts, also worked closely with the Stourbridge District Youth Football League, where the request was shared across all age groups from U7 to U16 to hold a minute’s applause in respect of Ethan at their games last weekend.

The club’s chairperson told the Express & Star it was a “very touching and well-supported tribute across the football community.”

Ethan’s mother, Lynsey, said her son “was full of life and love and this is something he clung to in all parts of his life”.

She told the Express & Star: “He had a passion for football, music, food, fitness, friends and most of all, his family.

“He was a shining light for anyone who knew him and he was, above all else, kind.

“The world is a darker place for Ethan not being in it so, as his friends and family, we can only try to bring the same light to others that Ethan gave to us.”
