Money Saving Amy: Cheer up your January with best deals for eating out
Hello everyone. With January being a typical cold and dreary month, we all need something to cheer us up.

And luckily for us, it is a quiet month for pubs and restaurants, which traditionally experience a lull after the rush of Christmas and New Year.
That means they will be actively looking to encourage people through the doors, putting up offers that are worth taking up for a few drinks and a bite to eat with friends and family.
It is worth looking at apps for big brands as they are likely to have vouchers or offers in place.
In return for registering your details, you can get some really good deals that may persuade you to venture out into the cold on a January evening or perhaps for a lunchtime treat.
This week I’m sharing with you some of the best deals I’ve spotted, but there are many more out there, so get searching!
Gusto
Gusto is a lovely Italian restaurant offering pizza, pasta and more.
I’ve now dined at the Manchester branch and Birmingham branch and both visits have consisted of tasty food in a beautiful restaurant setting.
The pricing is reasonable anyway in this restaurant but for the month of January they’re offering 50 per cent off food (a la carte menu) on Monday-Thursday all day and Friday until 16.45.
There are 14 Gusto restaurants across England and one restaurant in Edinburgh. For those of yout in the West Midlands, Birmigham is the nearest and those in Staffordshire or Shropshire could venture out to Alderley Edge or Cheadle Hulme.
You must be a gold member to take advantage of this offer. The gold membership is free to join but you must be a member for at least 24 hours before claiming the discount.
Bella Italia
Bella Italia is offering £5 pasta dishes up until January 25. There are nine different pasta dishes at this price such as Carbonara and Bolognese, and three other pasta dishes for a little more at £6.99 each.
Frankie and Benny’s
Frankie and Benny’s are offering £5 meals until January 21, excluding Saturdays. On the £5 menu are the following dishes: classic burger, classic cheeseburger, crispy BBQ burger, classic dog and vegan dog.
Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut is offering 41 per cent off food when you dine-in at Pizza Hut restaurants up until Thursday January 25. The discount is valid on mains, sides and desserts and doesn’t apply to drinks, deals and buffet. Please see the Pizza Hut website for full terms and conditions.
Pizza Express
The pizza and pasta chain is offering 50 per cent off pizzas when you dine in and are a Pizza Express club member.
BrewDog is offering £1 burgers and pizzas, when you buy an additional full priced pizza or burger.
Marco Pierre White
Marco Pierre White restaurants are offering 50 per cent off mains on the A La Carte menu up until January 26.
New year days out
If you’re looking for a January day trip or night away, don’t forget to research the best offers as many attractions offer reduced rates throughout January, and sometimes February too.
One example is Chessington World of Adventure, which is offering stays in a wildlife view room for around £200 for a family of four on a Saturday. The main rides are closed but the zoo and aquarium are open.
Peppa Pig World is also offering a nights stay and two day park tickets for around £200 for a family of four. These are significant savings on the prices throughout the rest of the year.
Meanwhile it is always worth searching online for offers that may get you a cheaper than normal trip to attractions near you. Birmingham’s Sea Life Centre is often offering deals, for example.
And consider signing up to membership for attractions where you love going and would get your money’s worth. The likes of Dudley Zoo offer packages that pay for themselves in two visits. There will be an initial financial hit, but then you have the rest of the year to enjoy for free. The same is true for National Trust properties, which are often perfect places for families to visit.
An annual membership isn’t particularly cheap, but if you are going to make good use of an attraction like Wightwick Manor or Attingham Park then it is money well spent.
It might be worth taking a packed lunch during visits though as National Trust cafes don’t come cheap!
I hope these deals cheer up your January. I would love to hear of any of your ideas so that I can share them with everyone. You can find me in Instagram @_moneysavingamy. Keep warm and try to have fun!
