Covid-19 case confirmed at The Bewdley School

A positive case of coronavirus has been confirmed at a Wyre Forest school.

The Bewdley School confirmed Public Health England advised them there had been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the school.

It is not known whether the confirmed case is a pupil or teacher, and when approached by the Express & Star the school declined to comment further.

The school, off Stourport Road, remains open.

In a letter published on the Bewdley School's website, the school's headteacher said: "We have been advised by Public Health that there has been a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the setting.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health.

"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid-19) will be a mild illness.

"The school remains open and providing your child remains well they can continue to attend the setting as normal. We will keep this under review."
