Men injured after car strikes wall outside Bilston homes

Two men were taken to hospital with “potentially serious injuries” after a suspected stolen car ploughed into a wall in Bilston.

The vehicle crashed after a police chase.

Emergency services attended the scene in Bradley Lane at 3.15pm today.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was trapped for half-an-hour due to suffering injuries in the crash in Bradley Lane and had to be cut free by firefighters before being taken to New Cross Hospital.

The passenger, also a man in his 20s, was able to get out of the car himself but was taken to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley to be treated for injuries.

Police are waiting to question both men on suspicion of car theft and burglary.

Motorists faced long delays

Traffic on Bradley Lane was brought to a standstill as motorists were turned around by officers and forced to go back the way they came.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Officers on patrol in Bilston Road just after 3pm today spotted a suspected stolen vehicle.

"It failed to stop for police and made off - but shortly afterwards crashed into a wall in Bradley Lane.

"Two men in the car suffered leg injuries and have been taken to hospital - they will be questioned on suspicion of car theft and burglary."
