Road partially blocked and buses diverted following Wolverhampton crash

A road in Wolverhampton was partially blocked after a crash.

National Express West Midlands has warned of diversions to its regular services following a crash on Wolverhampton Road East, Wolverhampton.

The crash was first reported by National Express at 6.42pm, with the company warning that service 1 would face diversions as a result

A National Express West Midlands spokesperson said: "Due to an incident on Wolverhampton Road East, the service 1 will be diverting in both directions via Lawnswood Road, Birmingham New Road and Parkfield Road.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

AA Route Planner has warned of 'slow traffic' due to the crash, saying that the route has become 'partially blocked'.

It said: "Partially blocked and slow traffic due to a crash on the A459 Wolverhampton Road East.

"Both ways at Lawnswood Avenue."

Emergency services have been approached for more information.
