The death of the 21-year-old woman, who was found at an address in Rakegate Close, Oxley, on Sunday morning, is being treated as unexplained.

A police spokesman said a 23-year-old man who was arrested in connection with her death and has been released on police bail until May 31.

A post-mortem examination carried out on the woman's body proved inconclusive and further tests are due to be carried out in the coming days.

Residents in the area said Rakegate Close is normally quite a quiet area and the woman had only moved into the property in the last few months.

Yesterday, Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield, from West Midlands Police's homicide team, said: "We are in the early stages of our enquiries but we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young woman and we’ll be doing all we can to support them at such a distressing time."

Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101.
