Stolen pug stolen reunited with family after appeal shared 20,000 times

A family from Codsall have been reunited with their beloved pet pug after he was stolen the day after he had a serious operation.

Staffordshire Police officers found seven-month-old Alastor in the back of a van, after they stopped it on Park Road in Featherstone to search earlier this morning.

A knife was also found in the search.

Alastor was immediately returned to his overjoyed owners.

Owner Michelle James, said: "The response to our appeal since Alastor was stolen has been amazing with nearly 20,000 shares on social media so thanks to all those involved.

“Alastor’s had a traumatic couple of days as he is also recovering from an operation that he had the day before he was taken.

"But he’s safely back home now and we’re delighted to have him returned to us.”

A 41-year-old man from Middlewich in Cheshire was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in police custody and enquiries are on-going.
