Forensic investigators were examining the scene as officers launched house-to-house inquiries to see if anyone saw anything suspicious.

Detective Inspector Paul Joyce, from West Midlands Police's Homicide Unit, said: “We are in the very early stages of our inquiry and we are trying to understand the circumstances around this man’s death.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, but in the meantime, I would ask anyone with information which could assist us to call my team on 101.”
