The man was taking part in the 5km route of the Walsall Rotary Club Fun Run on Sunday.

He was in Argyle Road when he had the cardiac arrest.

St John Ambulance provided treatment, but the man was pronounced dead.

Race organiser Simon Bond said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man."

Around 500 people took part in the race, which is in memory of Dr Sam Ramaiah who was the director of public health at Walsall Council.
