Motorcyclist in 'critical condition' after crash near Lichfield - as police appeal to trace runner who stopped to help

A man was left with life-threatening injuries following a crash near Lichfield - with police appealing to trace a runner who stopped to help.

Staffordshire Police were called to the scene near the Woodend Lane roundabout by Gorse Lane, Fradley, by West Midlands Ambulance Service on Wednesday (July 30) at around 8.30pm. 

The incident, which involved a Yamaha motorbike, reportedly occurred at around 8.20pm.

The rider, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries. He is in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers are now hoping to trace a runner who stopped to provide first aid and called 999 and anyone with dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage from Gorse Lane.
