Elderly woman dies from her injuries after van crash at Burnt Tree junction

A woman who suffered serious injuries after being hit by a van in Tipton has died.

The 73-year-old was hit just before 2pm on Friday, at Burnt Tree junction on Birmingham Road.

She was taken to hospital where she died this morning.

Another woman, in her 60s, who was also seriously injured, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and is helping officers with their enquiries.

West Midlands Police is continuing to investigate and is appealing to anyone who saw what happened or anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch as soon as possible.
