Brothers Joe and Adam Ingram, who run Xtreme Cutz Barber Shop, installed the bar in memory of their mother Carol who passed away in 2014.

They opened the bar, which they named Carol's Bar, on Monday.

It is believed to be the borough's first barber shop with a licensed bar.

Joe, aged 27, said: "It is touching to be able to open the bar in honour of our mother, it means a lot to us.

"She had a strong work ethic and raised us to work hard and get a job when we left school.

"She got my brother into hair-cutting after she got him sweeping floors when he was 12 and 13.

"I then got into hair-dressing by working with my brother."

Brothers Joe and Adam Ingram, left with staff Nathan Williams, front and Aaron Whorton in the bar at their barbers shop Xtreme Cutz Barber in High Street, Cradley Heath that they have opened in memory of their mother Carol who passed away in 2014

The opening date was extra special as it fell on Carol's birthday, and marked 18 years since Adam, 35, opened the business.

They serve Special Cider, made at The Cider House in Quatt, Shropshire, which Joe says is a fan favourite.

Joe says the inspiration from the bar came after they heard of barber shops in Birmingham and London offering beer with haircuts.

But they wanted to go one further and set up a fully licensed bar. It took two months to build, and the brothers used businesses who are also their customers to carry out the work.

Joe and Adam grew up in Halesowen and now live in Cradley Heath and Stourbridge.

They run the shop, located on High Street, but have two freelance barbers who also work there.

The conditions of the bar license means they can only serve alcohol if people buy a haircut.

But they also serve hot drinks and milkshakes which people can buy separately. They also serve kegs of cider.
