The prize is up for grabs as part of a once-in-a-lifetime charity raffle – and tickets are already selling fast.

Whoever owns the winning ticket will win the property, thought to be the oldest surviving in Sedgley, along with a Jacuzzi hot tub and a Range Rover Autobiography on the drive.

Homeowners Lydia and Paul Browning are looking to move out with their children, Lola, age 12, and eight-year-old James.

Lydia, age 38, who runs four day nurseries across the Black Country area with her husband, said she hoped it would be a "fantastic opportunity" for someone to win the house of their dreams.

She said: "We feel that it’s a win for everyone as we get to sell our house quickly with no chain, give someone an amazing opportunity and provide a big amount for a fantastic charity.

"The competition opened on Friday at 4pm and by the end of the day we had sold £37,500 worth of tickets. It's amazing."

The Brownings are trying to sell as many tickets as they can to be able to provide Ronald McDonald House Charity UK with a donation of £166,000.

The family have chosen the children's charity after friends and family members had to take their youngsters there.

The competition comes just months after another Win Your Dream competition saw 23-year-old admin assistant Jemma Nicklin from Bilston receive the keys to a £500,000 idyllic country home in Shropshire.

Lydia added: "Seeing Jemma from Bilston win that house, it just made it feel so real to us. And we wanted to do the same. We want to give someone their dream home."

The family home dates in part from the 1500s with supporting timbers thought to be much older.

There are views from the patio of Cotwall End Nature Reserve from the garden and the new homeowner will be able to see as far as the Malverns.

Inside the property

Inside there's a spacious living and dining room with wood-burner, a utility room, downstairs cloakroom, ground-level cellars, and a large breakfast kitchen at the rear, leading out onto a sun terrace.

Off the living space, a new study has been created with a glazed oak partition.

The first floor is made up of four bedrooms, including a master en-suite and a comfortable family bathroom.

Planning permission has also been granted to extend the property to make a new garage, a first level family space and a second level master suite.

There is also a £5,000 prize up for grabs for whoever shares the link the most, leading to the highest number of ticket sales.
