Police still appealing for witnesses after man hit and killed by bus near Russells Hall Hospital

Police are continuing to appeal for information following the death of a man who was struck by a bus near Russells Hall Hospital.

West Midlands Police said enquiries are continuing after the pedestrian was hit on the A4101 Kingswinford Road near the Dudley hospital just before midday on Thursday (January 29).

Officers were called to reports of a collision at the junction of Kingswinford Road and Bushey Fields Road, where a man was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Anyone with information on the crash that could help the investigation is asked to contact officers directly.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Anyone with dashcam footage from around the time of the incident, or any information that may help, is also being asked to get in contact on 101, or via Live Chat on our website, quoting log 1947 of January 29.

West Midlands Ambulance Service had said on Thursday that the bus driver was assessed at the scene and conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment. 

An ambulance service spokesperson said: "Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the WMAS Critical Care Car and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, we found a man who was the pedestrian. Sadly, it was clear that nothing could be done to save him, and he was confirmed deceased by ambulance staff at the scene. 

"A second patient who was the driver of the bus was assessed and conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment."
