Boy, 12, charged with sexual assault after woman found seriously injured in Birmingham

A 12-year-old boy has been charged after woman, in her 60s, was found with serious injuries at an address in Birmingham.

The victim was found with serious injuries at an address on Kellett Road, Birmingham just before 6.15pm on Wednesday (March 18) and remains in hospital in serious condition.

A 12-year-old boy was arrested and has since been charged with wounding and sexual assault.

He's also been charged with a separate theft matter that occurred on the same day and intentional strangulation after a woman was confronted in the street last month.

The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, is remanded to appear before Birmingham Youth Court tomorrow (March 24).
