Legendary punk rockers coming to Birmingham for 50th anniversary tour (aff)

The Sex Pistols feat. Frank Carter will bring half a century of hits and punk attitude to Birmingham.

A band cited as one of the most influential punk bands in history will bring half a century of hits to the West Midlands.

Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols will hit the road with Frank Carter this winter, with a show at the 02 Academy in Birmingham announced on December 14 alongside five other new dates on the Anarchy In The U.K. Tour.

The 50th anniversary of ‘Anarchy In The UK’ falls on November 26 and, in 1977, the song dropped like a cultural bomb, tapping in to the discontent of a Britain in the economic doldrums, igniting a generation and changing music forever

Paul Cook said: “With Anarchy, I think we tapped into a feeling of unrest around the country at the time.

“The message was pretty simple, just have a go and get out there and do whatever you want to do. It was a new world."

Guitarist Steve Jones said: “We're having a blast as we're like a well-oiled machine right now and it's been incredible to get out there with these songs we wrote 50 years ago.

“We love it. Frank's a great frontman and really gets the crowd going.

“Every person in the audience loves these songs as much as we do and it’s an absolute pleasure to get out there and play them.”
