The freehold plot is being sold off by cash-strapped Birmingham City Council
A plot of land close to the end of the runway at Birmingham Airport is listed for sale in Bond Wolfe’s landmark 50th auction next month.

The freehold land, located to rear of 49-51 Hazeldene Road in Sheldon, Birmingham, which has a guide price of £50,000-plus, is being sold on behalf of Birmingham City Council.
Extending to approximately 580 square metres, the plot is among scores of lots set to appear in property company Bond Wolfe’s next auction which starts at 8.30am on Thursday May 14.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “This is an interesting plot of vacant land which may be suitable for a variety of uses, include educational, community or residential, subject to planning permission.
“The site, with access between 49 and 51 Hazeldene Road, is in a predominantly residential area on the edge of Sheldon Country Park, which itself overlooks the end of the runway at Birmingham Airport.”
Mr Bassi urged anyone interested in the land to explore potential uses they might propose with Birmingham City Council’s planning department ahead of the auction which will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website - with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
