Idyllic cottage in West Midlands countryside set to go under the hammer
An idyllic rural cottage set in the West Midlands countryside is set to go under the hammer at an auction house’s landmark auction.
A four-bedroomed rural cottage in the countryside west of Birmingham is set to be one of the star lots at an auction house’s landmark 50th auction.
Oxwood Cottage in Frankley Green will have a guide price of more than £365,000 in the livestreamed Bond Wolfe auction on Thursday, May 14.

James Rossiter, associate director at Bond Wolfe, said: “This is a character property set amid rolling hills and picturesque countryside standing in a plot of around a third of an acre.
“As a result, it would be suitable for development subject to securing the necessary planning permissions.

“As it stands, however, this is a large family home around a mile west of the village of Frankley Green with large tree-lined gardens and many original features.
“A detached house, it is set back from the road behind a gated driveway leading to a large brick garage/store.”

The ground floor hall leads to a large through reception room, a second reception room, breakfast kitchen and a shower room with WC.
There are four large bedrooms off the first floor landing and electric heating and double glazing are fitted.

Mr Rossiter said: “Offers in excess of the guide price may be considered prior to the auction sale.”
Oxwood Cottage will be among 162 lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which starts at 8.30am on Thursday, May 14.

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
