Heatwave causes Wolverhampton waste sites open times to be brought forward

The sites will open and close earlier due to the heatwave.

Two city waste and recycling sites are set to open and close earlier for the rest of the week due to the extreme heat warning.

Wolverhampton Council confirmed that Shaw Road and Anchor Lane would both open at 7am and close at 3pm on Thursday and Friday (June 25 & 26) due to the heat warning.

The council also advised people travelling to the two sites in Wolverhampton to take care.

A spokesman for Wolverhampton Council said: “Due to the extreme heat warning currently in place the opening times at the Shaw Road and Anchor Lane HWRCs (tips) have been brought forward and they will now open from 7am to 3pm until Friday.

“Please take care when travelling to the HWRCs.”
