The 'walk in' scheme at the Saddlers Centre, Walsall, has been extended until April 11

People aged 50 and over or who have an underlying health condition can get vaccinated at Saddlers Centre in Walsall without an appointment until April 14.

The scheme had been due to end on April 2 but has been extended in a bid to enable as many people as possible to access the service.

A spokesperson for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, said: "Although we have had a strong uptake of the first vaccination across the Walsall area we know that there are still a number of people in eligible groups who haven’t yet come forward and we want to ensure we make it as easy as possible for them to access.

"We are delighted that we have been able to extend the drop-in service for vaccinations to April 14 at the Saddlers Centre.

"If you are yet to have your vaccine and are over 50 or have an underlying health condition you can come along and get your vaccine now.

"On arrival you must have your NHS number and have your date of birth ready and any proof of eligibility if you have a health condition."

Vaccines are available to anyone who fits the criteria on a 'walk in' basis from 8am to 7pm, seven days a week until April 14. People need to bring their NHS number and proof of age.

Similar 'walk in' schemes Tipton Sports Academy and WV Active Aldersley in Wolverhampton are due to end on April 2.
