The food bank at Open Heaven Church in Wednesbury has been given tons of pasta, beans, flour, chicken, onions and potatoes to distribute among the community.
The donation was delivered by former Labour parliamentary candidate Ibrahim Dogus, who said he wanted to give something back to communities he grew fond of during last year's election campaign.
Mr Dogus, who lost the West Bromwich East seat to the Tories in December, said: "For thousands of people in this area, staying at home is not just an inconvenience, it is a fight for survival.
"Too many are anxious about paying their rent, their household bills and are frightened that they may not be able to feed themselves or their children.
"Charities and community organisations have stepped up magnificently, but the need is outstripping demand.
"As we face a possible continuation of the lockdown, I want to do my bit. We can’t all be fighting on the front line, like our amazing NHS and social care workers, but I hope that the food and other household goods I am delivering helps ease the burden for some of the most vulnerable families in West Bromwich."
The package included chicken strips donated by Meadow Valley Foods, while the other items were donated by Foodelo Ltd.
