The game had ended with a 2-1 win for Sutton United, with supporters coming onto the pitch to celebrate with the players, but several Gornal supporters also invaded the pitch and several clashes took place.

In a few instances, people could be seen throwing punches, while several flares were thrown onto the pitch and then thrown back in to the packed main stand, with more than 1,500 people having come to watch the final.

Police officers could be seen running across the pitch to break up scuffles, with at least one police dog also seen at the scene, and it took at least 15 minutes to clear the scene and move the fans from the pitch.
