Four men arrested after successful pursuit by Staffordshire Police dog
Four men were taken into custody after being tracked down by a police dog and armed response team.
Four men were arrested after a police dog led the pursuit to find the men following a car chase.
Officers from the Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team had pursued a vehicle the force said it suspected had been linked to recent attempted thefts in Cannock, with the occupants abandoning the vehicle and making off on foot.
The force said PD Iko had been deployed to track the men, with members in Armed Response Vehicles surrounding the area and eventually capturing the four men, who were arrested.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “When officers from Staffordshire Road Crime Team spotted a vehicle in Cannock suspected of being linked to recent attempted vehicle thefts, the driver decided they weren't going to stop.

“A short time later, the vehicle was abandoned and its occupants took off on foot, hoping they could disappear into the area.
“Unfortunately for them, they hadn't factored in one very important detail as PD Iko was nearby.
“With her chauffeur providing updates to patrols, Iko got straight to work tracking from the vehicle.
“As she followed the trail, colleagues in Armed Response Vehicles searched the surrounding area. The game was soon up - four males were located hiding nearby and were arrested.”
