Former Stafford care worker found guilty of sexually abusing children
The former care worker will be sentenced in the new year after being found guilty of multiple sexual assaults of children.
A former care worker from Staffordshire has been found guilty of eleven sexual assaults of children.
A jury at Stafford Crown Court found Thomas Beckerleg guilty of eight counts of abusing a position of trust – sexual activity with a girl 13 to 17 and three counts of sexual activity with a girl 13 to 15 on Tuesday.
The court had heard how, in 2023, Beckerleg, 37, of Stafford, was arrested by West Mercia Police after one of the victims came forward and told them what had happened.
Staffordshire Police said it launched an investigation after another victim reported a sexual assault.

Beckerleg was arrested and denied all the offences, but the force said officers worked tirelessly to gather evidence against him which has led to a jury convicting him of the offences.
Detective Sergeant Bethan Otter, of the Staffordshire Police public protection unit, said: “I'm pleased that we've been able to work alongside our colleagues at West Mercia Police to build all of the evidence needed to make sure Beckerleg answers to his crimes.
“I would like to commend the bravery of the victims in coming forward and telling us what happened to them and I hope this conviction offers them some form of closure."
Beckerleg is due to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on January 14, 2027.
