Food safety warning issued over products supplied by frozen food company in Cannock Chase
The affected products include a wide range of frozen foods
Residents are being urged to check their freezers after the Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued an urgent Food Alert for Action concerning frozen products supplied by Inarah's Frozen Foods Ltd.
The alert, issued on 4 June, warns that all frozen products sold by Inarah's Frozen Foods, at Regal Drive, Walsall, WS2 9HQ, may be unsafe to eat and should not be consumed.
According to the FSA, the company has been unable to demonstrate that its products were produced and handled safely. As a result, enforcement authorities across the UK have been instructed to ensure affected products are removed from sale and recalled where they have been sold directly to consumers.
The affected products include a wide range of frozen foods, including chicken, beef, fish and vegetarian items, covering all pack sizes, batch numbers and best-before dates sold under the three brand names.
Cannock Chase Council is asking any local businesses that hold frozen products supplied by Inarah's Frozen Foods Ltd to contact its Environmental Health team immediately by emailing [email protected].
Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products are advised not to eat them and to dispose of them safely at home.
The Food Standards Agency says the products were supplied to food businesses across the UK and has warned that foods which do not meet food hygiene and safety requirements may pose a risk to public health.
