Fire crews tackle blaze after car and trees catch alight on South Staffordshire street
The car was burnt out alongside a number of trees
A car was destroyed and several trees and grassland burnt out and blackened after a fire broke out.
A crew from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire near Bridgnorth Road in Wombourne just before 7pm on Wednesday (July 8) and found a car on fire and trees alight next to Millers Vale.

The crew worked to tackle the blaze, which left the car completely wrecked and saw one lane of traffic closed while fire crews worked at the scene, before leaving just after 8.30pm.
A resident on social media said the car had caught fire after the trees caught alight.
The message read: “No car has left the road and it's at the bottom of our street.
“The car was parked outside a house and unfortunately caught fire due to the trees on flames close by.
“The fire brigade were on scene shortly after and as far as we know no one has been hurt.”
