'This might be the last show': Fans invited to what might be last Gary Powndland show in Wolverhampton
The comedian behind Gary Powndland said it might be the last show for the character.
It could be the last hurrah on stage for a popular working-class, tea-swilling, Wolves supporting character as he prepares to entertain his home fans.
Gary Powndland will be bringing his unique brand of eccentric comedy around living in his dead Nan's house alongside ten befriended foxes and the other characters in his life to the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton on September 26.
It will be a show which carries a real significance as well after Jack Kirwan, the brains behind the character, announced on social media that it could be the last time Gary Powndland performs live.
He said: “This will be my last Gary Powndland show for some time and if everything turns out the way it is, it could be the last one ever.
“This isn’t like I’m doing a Tyson Fury thing, coming in and out of retirement, but there’s too many other things I want to do.
“I’m really looking forward to doing this show on September 26 at the Wulfrun Hall and it would be the last Gary show for some while, maybe a year, two years or three and could be forever to be honest.”

He said that it was a conscious decision as he wanted to do other things and said that Gary Powndland would still be active elsewhere.
He said: “I don’t want anyone to think I’m retiring or retiring the character as he will still exist online and in videos.
“However, there’s lots of other stuff I want to do and lots of other characters I want to do live and I’m planning a sketch show I’m going to film and do myself.
“There’s also several other projects that I’ve never got around to because of Gary dominating everything, plus it’s really difficult as I’ve got a day job and I feel like I’m spinning plates and it’s a lot, very mentally tiring.”
Mr Kirwan said he was really looking forward to the show in September, saying: “I’d love you to come and get your tickets and come and see Gary Powndland.
“A massive shout out to everyone who has bought tickets before, but if you haven’t been before, please come along and support Gary.”
