Fallen tree branch blocks Wolverhampton road - buses and cars diverted
Recovery teams are at the scene
A fallen tree branch is causing bus and motorist diversions and delays in Wolverhampton.
It has happened on Lea Road as of 7am on Friday. Bus service 2 diverting in both directions via Penn Road.

Dramatic photos show the size of the large branch as it covers the road near the junction of Bruford Road and Carlton Road.

Traffic could be seen being diverted onto Bruford Road and onto Claremont Road, where a set of cones had been put in place, while a crew from Wolverhampton Council had arrived at the scene alongside workers from Openreach.

A resident, who asked not to be named, said he had been told about the branch and come down to see for himself.

He said: “I first heard about just after 7am when my father told me that a tree had fallen down and I initially thought it was over our house, because there’s a lot of overgrown trees near our house.

“He said it hadn’t been a full tree, but had been a branch, so I went out to check and saw the branch across the road.
“It’s around the school hour, so I was worried about the children, but no one’s hurt, and we’re just waiting for the council to come and clear it up.”
