'A source of great pride' as Kinver High School secures strong Ofsted ratings
Kinver High School praised for strong achievement and inclusion in Ofsted inspection
Kinver High School and Sixth Form has been praised by Ofsted after inspectors found the school meets the expected standard across all areas of its work, with strong standards for achievement, inclusion, and personal development and wellbeing.
The inspection, carried out on March 17 2026 under Ofsted’s new five-point framework, found that pupils achieve well across a range of subjects, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND. Inspectors said achievement gaps for disadvantaged pupils are “narrowing quickly” and described pupils as “very well prepared for the next stage of their education”.
Ofsted also highlighted the school’s ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum, effective support for pupils with additional needs, and extensive enrichment programme.
Pupils were praised for their maturity, positive attitudes to learning and respectful relationships, with inspectors describing the school as “calm and orderly”.

Safeguarding was also confirmed as meeting the required standard, with no area of the school’s work judged below the expected level.
The findings have been reinforced by Kinver’s latest GCSE results. The school recorded a provisional Attainment 8 score of 51, above the national average of 47, while 77% of pupils achieved grade 4 or above in both English and maths.
Headteacher Chris Heywood said the report was “a source of great pride” and provided a strong foundation for the next stage of the school’s development.
Kinver High School was rated strong for achievement, inclusion, and personal development and wellbeing, while attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, and leadership and governance all met the expected standard.
