The meeting, organised by unions, will take place at Stourbridge Town Hall on Wednesday, May 22, between 7pm and 10pm.

It was announced earlier this month by cash-strapped Birmingham Metropolitan College (BMet), which runs the Stourbridge site, that the college would close this summer – adding that the decision had "not been taken lightly".

The Save Stourbridge College campaign is being spearheaded by former Dudley Council leader Pete Lowe.

He said: "It is my belief that we should fight this decision by BMet to close Stourbridge College and hold those accountable for putting at risk our education in Stourbridge. We should stand shoulder to shoulder with students, tutors, unions, community activists and demand this decision is overturned."

It comes as Stourbridge MP Margot James has criticised BMet for the proposed closure of the Hagley Road site.
